So I left Berlin one day Way way back in March 2016, just as the cherry tree blossoms began to bloom in Philadelphia... my friends at Kawari Sound Studios and I recorded an album together. It was an intense and magical six days in the studio where everyone was in tune to some crazy highly creative, collective and spontaneous music making mojo. The record started out as 25 demos that I recorded in Berlin and then sent to Zach, who then chose 10 songs from the bunch. When I arrived in Philly we made a basic plan of attack with a notebook and a pen. The following days Captain Zach piloted the super studio ship while Kapitän Karl kept us uber cozy, well nourished and inspired. Nate and Matty came in and both did an incredible feat playing drums without having heard the songs before. Flicker painted the tunes with his amazing trumpet playing. Zach played a million different instruments, engineered and produced the record like a freaking mad musical rocket scientist. Karl played bass and all kinds of keys, pianos, organs like a rock n rollin genius. Anjuli sang beautiful backing vocals. Sharon took lots of great photos of it all during the sessions. And many other fantastic friendly folks and family came in and were involved in getting this album recorded and it's from all of us working together in a relaxed, natural, intuitive and giving way that this album sounds so cool. I love how it turned out and I hope that you do to. I'm soooo grateful and happy that my friends and I got to make this together and that I got to be a part of such an awesome experience. Thanks to all yall it's been an unbelievable time out of time. Thank you, can't wait to do it again!
